And I'm quite happy I'm off from Norway before winter! :)Rinonkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17001086188160239566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2489825674468647913.post-81946145443039326332010-08-22T21:50:03.095+02:002010-08-22T21:50:03.095+02:00Rinonka - That is so funny with the 'tak' ...Rinonka - That is so funny with the 'tak' and the 'appelsin'!!!

5 months? Cut yourself some slack. It took me years to figure out the basics here in Poland. Every time in the shop (at least they do have super and hiper markets) when it comes to pay, it is usually me waiting to see the price on the counter display. And then it comes: kvitterung? bolsa? wtf? First day I was making huge eyes, thankfully, norwegians speak english way better than I do. Now I know kvitterung is a receip, and bolsa is a plastic bag, although their 'yes' is 'ja' and 'thank you' is 'takk'. How confusing for polish! So every time they ask me if I want a receip I THANK THEM. Come on, after 5 months I could know better... :)
Oh and to have more confusion, their orange juice is called appelsin.Rinonkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17001086188160239566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2489825674468647913.post-91267672455182084892010-08-20T21:56:01.884+02:002010-08-20T21:56:01.884+02:00It definitely was good practice in a manner of sin...It definitely was good practice in a manner of sink or swim. Not because I'm not able to pronounce things I need but every time I forget what I wanted to buy ;)

It's good that now there are dictionaries with pictures ;) I guess for beginners it's a big relief just to show something instead of say it.

But it was a good speaking practice, wasn't it? ;)ucieczkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17366168146597211231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2489825674468647913.post-22688557291834698982010-08-18T07:54:19.289+02:002010-08-18T07:54:19.289+02:00ds- I wholeheartedly agree with all positive asses...ds- I wholeheartedly agree with all positive assessments of myself.
