Winter is here.

Time to break out my Relaksy.

Sure, my Relaksy are much more modern that this guy’s. Mine aren’t even real “Relaksy”, just Relakso-podobne from Puma. But my feet are warm and dry and that’s all that really matters.

I tried to persuade Misiu to get himself a pair of kultowy Relaksy which have been re-introduced to the market by Wojas. Misiu isn’t turned on by winter footwear and he wasn’t especially turned on by Relaksy by Wojas when he saw the price – over 400 PLN. C’mon, Relaksy are the ultimate egalitarian footwear. How can they cost so much? OK, they’re cheaper than the Ecco’s I was looking at, but are definitely more than the Puma’s I ultimately purchased. Wojas, shame on you ;)

Sooo...here's good question for you. How much should I be willingly to pay for a decent pair of warm winter boots? The kind that are waterproof and warm. I'm not looking for stylish and leather. It's a challenge. (i also hate shopping for shoes) Suggestions?

For warm and waterproof boots, about 250 PLN. In my opinion Ecco's are really great (I have some old ones) but expensive. That's why I opted for cheaper shoes to try and so far so good. It stinks to say that 250 is cheaper, but Ecco or Merrel or Keen run about 400-500. I should also add that I walk 3-5 miles a day so comfort, warmth and dry feet are important to me.

We spent about the same for the girls' shoes at Bartek. It's a lot esp. considering that you have more kids, but 2 years ago we bought cheaper winter boots for them and ended up buying 2 pairs when the first pairs fell apart. Once again, my kids walk a lot. We walk to and from school and on the weekends we walk in the woods.

Let me know how your shopping goes :)

Consider Rieker, decent and not-so-expensive boots.

Thanks, Czar. I will check out Rieker too.

kama - Thank you for the compliments. I haven't had time to write lately which in fact is good because it means I'm busy at work. Warm greetings for you too :)

And don't forget about Uggs (or other Emu-podobne), really warm (not waterproof, however). :)

Tomek, I almost forgot about the Uggs. I bought a pair a few years ago and the girls were given a pair each as a present when we were in the States. The are extrememly warm, it is true, but not so good in the snow as you mentioned. We walked to school behind a tween today whose Uggs' sole was slowly but surely separating from her shoe. Oh, and they definitely are not too good on the budget. I was checking the budget-friendly kid's shoes at Decathlon. I think that they have pretty decent shoes for a decent price.

Relaksy!!! - nienawidzilam tych butow jako dziecko!!! But the Wojas version looks awesome! I often buy Wojas shoes when I come to Poland and their quality is undeniable. Maybe you should buy a pair of cheep boots, and when Wojas Relaksy goe on sale at the end of the season you should buy larger size for cheaper for the next year?
