America does Easter right

America does Easter right if by right I mean hijacking a religious holiday and making it a consumerist Easter Extravaganza then they do it very right. (Maybe it should be Easter Eggstravaganza!)

Marshmallow eggs, probably gross but the packaging idea is cool

Peeps - it's a marshmallow chick covered in colored sugar - definitely gross but we always bought a pack for my grandmother along with a bag of jellybeans.

And if your basket isn't full yet...
My girls have already asked if the Easter Bunny will visit them at their grandparents. I guess I have some shopping to do! Wow, my first Easter at home in about 15 years.

Check out what some other blogger friends have to say about Easter.

Thanks for making me homesick!! Oh, and don't forget to add your post to the Linky too!

Sometimes I want Poland to be more commercial, better signage, better customer service, more museums with gift shops, etc.

You've convinced me that commercial can be overdone! Good timing on your visit, my little Easter bunny! ;-)

Chris, any plans for NYC?

Kelley, I am here experiencing it and it still makes me homesick. We went to our first group Easter egg hunt yesterday. There were 30 eggs per child - it was crazy!

Lois - Thanks for linking my post up for me Lois. The timing of our trip was out of our control but it worked out very well. I am in love with all the baskets and the decorations, but given the opportunity to buy something, I didn't. It's just too much.

Star - Except for the airport, no NYC trip :( I always keep you in mind though.

WOW! I would say after living abroad for nearly 4 years, I definitely do NOT miss all the commercialism for all the holidays. In fact, we started visiting our families in October and November to celebrate Christmas together when it's not as hectic in the U.S. Thanksgiving is probably the biggest American holiday I miss and was happy to celebrate that with our families last year. :-) Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the Easter wishes. It was a great day - a lot of pork products and a lot of chocolate - oh and a lot of family.
