I’m going to be 40 in a couple of months. I used to say that if you don’t get your shit together by the time you’re 40, you’re never going to get your shit together. So approaching 40, I thought it was the highest time to actually get my shit together. Now that I have embarked on my genius plan to get to get my shit together, I am stuck on where to start.
What does it actually mean to have it all together?

Chris, unless getting your shit together means being boring and absolutely predictable, I am sure you already got your shit together a long time ago...
I think everyone will be curious able what this entails. I'm predicting a big spike in your blog traffic!
Well, probably the easiest way would be to take it literally :P.
Though for me getting my shit together would be to start using around 100% and not 10% of my abilities and possibilities to do something I'd be proud of. I'll think of a deadline for it :D.
But hey! You have, cool husband, two awesome daughters, a house, a job you seem to like, you live in a exotic country and a gift to write about it. You're doing fine :D.
Regarding some aspects of my life, I'm pretty together. I set yearly goals and generally achieve them. I review and move forward. It's true that I have a wonderful family and job and a house and no mortgage. All blessings not to be taken for granted. However, I could do more and now that I have a family, I have to do more. I will do more! The problem right now is that it is so hot I can't even round up the energy to get a sandwich together let alone my whole life. I think I'll go do some laundry. Baby steps, baby steps.
Crap, I am 54 and still trying to get my shit together...
Aah Mary, that makes me feel better :)
